Got a job!

And hopefully, this one will last longer than a month! :3

Job fair at the American Girl Place in The Grove at Farmers Market in Los Angeles (not too far from Hollywood) today and after filling out the obligatory applications (my hand, it cramps!), talked with two of the staff managers there and yay! I was quite nervous when the first one called me in, considering the amount of job-related topics I've read for a long while and what most schools say when being interviewed, but it seems that I did quite well to be accepted after a second interview with a different manager. I suppose one could say about "conflict of interest" with my being a fan of Transformers, but on the same side of things between the two, it's the diversity of characters they carry that draws me in, AG when I was in elementary and middle school. :) As my mother had subscribed to the magazine years ago, I had enjoyed the various books of the Historical Characters line because the main characters were around my age frame, I loved reading, and that some of them lived with more than one culture. For example, Josefina and Kirsten are Americans, yes, but their cultural backgrounds are different than what was "American" of their time periods - Josefina of 1824 lives in New Mexio before it became part of the US and Kirsten is a Swedish immigrant in 1854.

Here's hoping I don't croak too fast. :D Thanks to [ profile] newsy891 and [ profile] playswithworms for their supporting words.

Venting a bit.

But at least not a rant. )

So many plans...

Well, not that many.

Definitely going: Botcon 2009 (HUZZAH! SOCAL!), Los Angeles Film Festival (as a volunteer)

Probably going: Anime Expo (mostly to see what deals I might find at the merchant halls), San Diego Comic-Con (that's if I'm lucky on scheduling)

Fan: Fics, fics, fics! Teh plot bunnies! Tehy dun wanna l3ave! *cough* Somewhat. Most are nibblers, so they're usually on the backshelf most of the time until I can address the buggers. So many ideas, but so many difficulties executing them... (*snerk* "Executing them"...)

Oh, and spending a bit more time at the TF Wiki, going over various articles and bouncing about like a Mexican jumping bean. What with Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen coming down the wire in less than two months, it's going to be busy at the Allspark.

Shoo bunnies. I'll address you at my own pace. I got other priorities to deal with now.

Chinese medicine...

But it's kinda the other side of things for most Chinese, eh? If healing is emergency, like a broken leg or kidney failure, go with Western medicine. If you're going to cleanse your body internally or minor cold/flu/what-have-you, go with Chinese medicine.

Yeah, I'm in one of those situations where the Chinese healing arts of "slow and steady" is preferable over Western "speed and quick", herbal medicine for this scenario. *sigh* You'd think after years of drinking the awful stuff I would've gotten used to it. Nope. I'll never get over the feeling of my tongue wanting to commit suicide and my nose wanting to hide somewhere nicer smelling.

I've never found much interest in Livejournal, even when after getting cable. But, what the hey, maybe I'll post some stuff now and then.

Read 'bout me! ...or not. )
