Note: Follows up "Rubedo Remiges". Umbra is Latin for "shadow" or "shade", the root word for "umbrella". In Japan, it's considered to be a bit romantic if a guy and a girl are sharing an umbrella, moreso if they're going out. I've been DYING to write up someone using a wing as a form of umbrella. Of course, that sort of limb manipulation isn't without penalties. :D

Note: Ed being the major in charge of the Department of Alchemical Abuse and Exploitation is from .Poisoned Scarlet.'s "Draped in Wires". Regarding Zack, it's a bit of AU from Birth By Sleep, as I'm a bit of a Zack/Aerith diehard fan.

"Rubedo" may sound familiar to those that have played the Xenosaga series, but it's used in relation to alchemy - Latin for "redness", and the final stage of the "alchemical opus" after nigredo, albedo, and citrinitas, in that order. Remiges are the flight feathers found on the wings of birds.
