n00b intro

lonegamer78I've never found much interest in Livejournal, even when after getting cable. But, what the hey, maybe I'll post some stuff now and then.
Chinese born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Driving's a pretty large part of my life and while I've had my fair share of driving crazies courtesy of other folks, my eyebrows were certainly raised when I went to Shanghai. Being raised in a mostly Chinese-populated community, speaking Cantonese comes pretty naturally (namely courtesy of my parents), I can speak Mandarin, I don't use it as often.
While I have a soft spot for American cartoons (especially some oldies), anime and manga are more of my mainstay. Plus they're my anti-drug. XD No thanks to two of my cousins (brother and sister, one who was a Sailor Moon fan and the other Dragon Ball fan; 3 guesses who liked which and first two don't count) introducing me to it when I was still an impressionable kid. Rurouni Kenshin, Fruits Basket, Macross Plus, Chrno Crusade, Escaflowne, Gundam Wing, Ghost in the Shell, Ah! Megami-sama!, just to name a few.
Video games are another anti-drug, although that's a bit more smaller collection. Most of the Final Fantasy series (IV, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, X-2, Tactics, Tactics A-2), Namco X Capcom (pronounced "cross"), Megaman X: Command Mission, Burnout 3, Burnout Paradise, Okami, the Kingdom Hearts series at the top of my head.
Fan wise, I mostly write fics here and there, whenever inspiration hits me and the plot (or at least a semblance of a plot) I formed is coherent enough. Mostly one shots, although I am mapping out a four multi-chapter intertwining storyline and currently working on one pretty large piece that I've been pecking away at since last year.
Currently, I'm pretty heavy into the Transformers fandom. I don't have that much toy-wise, as I'm sorta picky, but I tend to prefer the visual side of Transformers, such as artbooks, manga, comics, and the animated series, but that's another self-intro entry. ;)
